Malachite

About Malachite

Malachite you can spot from across the room. Malachite is a green copper carbonate, known for bright banding and velvety, botryoidal surfaces. It often grows alongside azurite, its deep blue copper cousin.

Most of our malachite specimens come from the Democratic Republic of Congo, with others from Yunnan, China and Durango, Mexico. It's soft and doesn't like water, so keep it dry and it'll keep looking sharp. Every mineral comes with a stand and label.
